Metro Atlanta Cycling ClubMembership Guidelines
A prospective member of Metro Atlanta Cycling Club will: 1. Be able to remove the front or rear wheel and replace a tube. 2. Be able to comfortably complete the following bike maneuvers while cycling: a) left and right turn signals b) stop signal c) look over the left or right shoulder to i.e. check traffic d) ride with either hand while drinking from a water bottle. 3. Complete within twelve months, seven (7) rides accompanied by three or more members. 4. Complete a fifty mile bike ride. 5. Successfully complete the MACC Edu-test. 6. Pay $30 yearly dues. 7. Agree to conduct yourself according to the MACC Principles listed herein.
MACC Principles - As a member of the Metro Atlanta Cycling Club, while riding my bicycle (in MACC gear), with the group or alone, I agree to: 1. Maintain my bike in a safe mechanical condition and carry a spare tube, tire levers and pump or CO2’s. 2. Always wear an industry certified helmet. 3. Observe proper cycling etiquette and be courteous to fellow cyclists. 4. Offer assistance to any cyclist in distress. 5. Obey all traffic laws and be courteous to motorists-even in the aftermath of their displaying rude and inconsiderate behavior; ie. acknowledge considerate motorists by waving or by saying “Thanks”. 6. Conduct yourself in a positive professional manner while wearing the MACC kit (uniform). 7. When you notice road hazards such as rocks,sand,gravel,holes or road damage, point them out to the rider behind you or call out the hazard.Also call out “car back or car up” when necessary. 8. Stop at red lights and traffic signs. MACC KIT ITEMS WILL NEVER BE MIXED WITH OTHER CLUBS CLOTHING
